Enjoy this slide show of "Greenie" the eel
He is a resident of our local waters and loves being photographed by his friend Kathie Comerford. She has seen him many times on her snorkeling adventures in the Colony's waters. The following is her write up of this visit with him:
I have been looking for greenie, an eel who has known me for a while. My snorkelling has been limited but yesterday I was able to stay in the water almost an hour; more floating than swimming. As I was about to get out of the water a green eel came up and was literally right in my camera. I shot him for about 20 mins. It was my beloved "Greenie". He is huge and came up out of the rocks to swim with tonya. He is about 9" wide; a big boy. It was so exciting! He is a real ham and loves for me to take his photos. He is in the water right at our beach club. My little helper is roger warwick's son. The Jupiter Mermaid. (Kathie Comerford)
