The JIC Beach Erosion Emergency Restoration sand delivery will start tomorrow, Friday, February 16, 2024.
Dump Trucks with sand for the JIC Beach Erosion Emergency Restoration will enter JIC and travel south on Colony Rd. from 7:00 AM through 5:00 PM. Empty trucks will leave the Beach Club lot traveling onto Lighthouse Dr. to the north end, turn left onto Colony Rd. and exit JIC. There may be 3-7 trucks per hour.
The Restoration Contractor will provide traffic flaggers with signage: One at the intersection of Colony Rd. and Lighthouse Dr. and One at the intersection of Ocean Dr. and Lighthouse Dr. There will be no parking, both sides, along the section of Lighthouse Dr. Between Colony Rd. and Ocean Dr. Traffic flaggers will not allow dump trucks to stop in front of the residents in this area.
There will be no parking on the West side of Colony Rd. and the East side of Lighthouse Dr. between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM weekdays and Saturdays until the emergency operation is complete. Signs will be posted along the route. Please help us complete this mission to replenish our town beachfront as quickly as possible by avoiding the affected roadways as much as possible.
